Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this postcard, he has depicted three women standing and looking out for something. The fluid yet soft strokes of ink, delineated in a calligraphic fashion, accentuate the folds of the saree, adding rhythm and vivacity to the sketch
