Album No. -5 (Sculpture Studies) 7132 Nandalal Bose Pencil on postcard

×
Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. The above sketch by the artist is a perceptible representation of a Ganesha sculpture, rendered with soft, linear pencil strokes articulating the graceful stance of the lord. The lines are fluid yet firm delineated in calligraphic style adding vigour and rhythm to the composition.
