Album No. -5 (Sculpture Studies) 7135 Nandalal Bose Pencil on postcard

×
Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. The above study sketch by the artist depicts a woman leaning over the door jamb. She is rendered with soft, linear pencil strokes delineated in calligraphic style. The lines articulate the graceful posture of the woman, adding rhythm and dynamism to the form.
