Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. This postcard sketch shows the portrait of a woman rendered with light contouring lines. The blunt and curvilinear strokes of the drapery enhance the delicacy of the cloth.
