Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, avidly recording the flora and fauna, the people of the place, their dress, their carriages, the headdress, the landscape, the festivals, and the architecture. The above sketch by Nandalal is a quick rendition of a male dancer, executed with repetitive, fluid pencil strokes that suggest the modelling of the body, sparing much detail.
