Nandalal understood the significance of the use of lines and experimented frequently in their execution from fine lines to thick contouring lines executed in a calligraphic fashion. In this pen and pencil sketch by Nandalal, he renders the figure of a bespectacled man in a dressing gown seated at a table. Using both angular and scribbled strokes he gives life to the figure.
