A Sketch from Album No. 18 7387 Nandalal Bose Pastel and pencil on postcard

×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings, animals and birds or anything that he found fascinating. In his pencil sketches, he has experimented with the use of lines to add texture, vigour and life to his sketches. In this postcard sketch, Nandalal portrays a woman dressed in a traditional attire. The sketch has been swiftly executed in thick, coarse pencil strokes suggesting the modelling of the form.
