A Sketch from Album No. 18 7388 Nandalal Bose Pastel and pencil on postcard

×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings, animals and birds or anything that he found fascinating. In his pencil sketches he has experimented with the use of lines to add texture, vigour and life to his sketches. This sketch is a quick rendition of a man sitting on a raised structure, swiftly executed in loose, coarse pencil strokes suggesting the modelling of the form, sparing much detail.
