A Sketch from Album No. 18 7396 Nandalal Bose Pencil on postcard

×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings, animals and birds or anything that he found fascinating. In his pencil sketches, he has experimented with the use of lines to add texture, vigour and life to his sketches. In this postcard sketch, Nandalal portrays a man lying down, from the back with his belongings. The sketch has been swiftly executed in loose, coarse pencil strokes suggesting the modelling of the form.
