Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted a scene of a fair in Faizpur where a man is walking on a thin rope for entertainment of the visitors. Executed in fluid, smudge strokes of pencil delineating the forms and demeanour of the subject.
