This postcard shows the line drawing of a lotus bud, probably a motif Nandalal observed on a temple building. In his book 'On Art', he writes about the lotus thus, "The uniform loveliness of its petals, gathering themselves into a fullness of beauty, has probably lured our people to accept the flower as a symbol of our ideal."
