Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted a blind man sitting, holding a stick in his hand. This has been executed in fluid yet firm, bold strokes of ink, suggesting the modelling of the form and adding grace to the composition.
