    Nandalal Bose

A Sketch from Album No. 41 7987 Nandalal Bose Pencil on postcard

×
This postcard sized drawing of a hen-keeper, clasping a hen in each hand while another flutters behind him, is not only a study of the animal form but a vivid exploration of the rustic male body. In clear, defined outlines Nandalal has brought out both, the helplessness of the birds and the resolve of the keeper in taming them. This is the third and last in a series of three sketches on hens in this album.
