This is another one of Nandalal's quick sketches. Characterised by their loose strokes and outlines, their purpose is to serve as studies of poses as well as an exploration of forms at their most basic. Rendered here in watercolour is the image of a herd of bulls seated amidst village hutments. Such scenes of rural life were among the most recurring themes in Nandalal's works.
