This is another one of Nandalal's quickly executed sketches. Characterised by their loose strokes and outlines, their purpose is to serve as studies of poses as well as an exploration of forms at their most basic. Stripping it of superfluous detail, only the bare minimum remains. This particular sketch shows a lean, reclining cow from behind. Its elongated back and bent head lends it grace and a pensive mood.
