Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted few groups of people sitting outside a hut and tree, few standing in the foreground. He has executed the subject in fluid, fine lines and the strong delineation in calligraphic style adds grace and vitality to the sketch.
