Tempera on postcard
×
In this painting Nandalal has represented a rock terrain. The dark patches of ink in the painting indicate light and shade in the composition, using a technique which is associated with specific Chinese and Japanese landscape traditions. It also recalls his statement from his book, 'Vision and Creation', 'Landscapes can be painted in the manner of seas, with wavy heaps of stone and earth.'
