The blurring of contours and the harmonious dilution of colours were techniques Nandalal acquired from the arts of the Far East. Here in this painting he has rendered a landscape. He has employed the combined tonal variations of black colour and textural properties of the brush in this drawing to suggest the light and depth in the composition.
