Nandalal's small sketches are testimony of his keen observation and empathy for the environment in which he lived. In this particular sketch, he has rendered a Scorpio, executed in dark, brisk pencil strokes that delineate the fine contours of its form. He has also made a template sketch of a part of its tail.
