Nandalal's drawings on postcards are spontaneous, done either with pen or brush and are basically linear. The above monochrome sketch by Nandalal, is a quick study of leaves. The illustration is swiftly executed with long, loose pencil strokes that suggest the modelling of the form sparing much detail.
