Nandalal?s connection with the nature and realities of the world around him is even more visible in his sketches. His sketches vastly vary in detailing, some drawn quickly with just a few lines, others executed with more elaborate characteristics from an analytical perspective. Here he has studied a plant as the inscription suggest, executed in fluid, fine lines, defining the contours of the flower. He has also made variety of scribbled drawings of its branches.
