    Nandalal Bose

A Sketch from Album No. 46 8210 Nandalal Bose Pencil on paper

×
Nandalal preferred drawing from life, often sketching outdoors with the subject being life, nature studies, landscapes, figure drawings, animals or anything that he found fascinating. In the above sketch the artist has depicted a fragment of an architectural structure with linear, firm pencil strokes defining its basic contours, sparing much detail. The fluid, continuous lines and its subject are suggestive of the spontaneity of Nandalal's sketches.
