Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this particular drawing, Nandalal studies in detail the contours of the flowers commonly known as 'Dopati' in Bengali, rendered in soft, smudged strokes.
