This two dimensional drawing of an ornamental lion on a postcard shows the animal with subtle features, contrary to the natural character of the ferocious king of beasts. The quick sweeps of solid, fluid black outline defines the contours of the sketch. A wave of an ornamental red flower in the background lends a delicate feel to the small drawing. Nandalal observed the various facets of nature and rendered them in concise forms in his works.
