Nandalal, impressed by the spontaneity of Chinese wash paintings, inculcated the style in his own artistic vocabulary. This monochrome watercolour painting shows thickly forested mountain peaks under a blanket of mist. The trees on the mountains are suggested with brush swabs rather than defined, lending an impressionistic touch.
