This watercolour painting of a sunrise has been executed by Nandalal in swift swabs of black colour to represent the trees and birds along with a fiery red to highlight the rising sun in all its glory. The bareness of the sky is complimented by the fullness of the trees in the foreground and the luminescence of the partly visible sun.
