    Nandalal Bose

A Sketch from Album No. 55 8453 Nandalal Bose Ink on postcard

×
This artwork has been painted on one of Nandalal's trips to Gopalpur, near Puri, on the eastern Indian coast of Orissa. He was inspired by the daily lives of the Nulia tribe. In this painting, his impulsive brush strokes delineate the Nulia fishermen with their distinctive conical caps, working together in harmony with the surf in order to set their canoe afloat.
