Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. He has here captured an intimate moment as a woman of the Nulia tribe, goes about her routine, cleaning her teeth. He accentuates the rhythm of the image by using bold monochromatic brush strokes.
