    Nandalal Bose

A Sketch from Album No. 61 8602 Nandalal Bose Ink on postcard

×
Nandalal Bose created a visual language with the use of monochromatic tones and simple brush strokes to model and bring out a corporeality of forms and substances. In this minimalist composition, he has depicted two local fishermen at work on the seashore of Gopalpur, Puri. The fluid handling of the strokes and their strong delineation indicates the influence of the Far Eastern art practices.
