Nandalal's small sketches are testimony of his keen observation and empathy for the environment in which he lived. In this sketch, he renders a detailed sketch of a wild cat reclining on a patch of grass. The fine short strokes of pencil have been used to define the animal's fur while smudged directional lines delineate the contours of the its body.
