Nandalal was indefatigable in his sketching routines which formed an adjunct part of his daily life. These postcard sketches are testimony of his keenness to observe and empathy for the environment in which he lived. In this sketch, Nandalal has depicted a hut and a tree executed with fluid brush strokes and their strong delineation in the calligraphic style gives a textured rendition to the trunk of the tree, accentuating its robustness and strength.
