Nandalal was indefatigable in his sketching routines which formed an adjunct part of his daily life. These postcard sketches are testimony of his keenness to observe and empathy for the environment in which he lived. In this sketch, Nandalal has carefully studied the characteristics of a tree. The sweeping brush strokes create multiple tones of grey-black while the dark lines define the contours of the tree.
