Nandalal Bose created a visual language with the use of monochromatic tones and simple brush strokes to model and bring out a corporeality of forms and substances. Nandalal here renders the sketch of two women. The sweeping brush strokes create multiple tones of grey-black while the dark calligraphic lines define the contours of the women's slender bodies. The confident handling of the brush delineates the waves of the sea, adding rhythm and life to the entire composition.
