    Nandalal Bose

A Sketch from Album No. 66 8731 Nandalal Bose Ink on postcard

×
Nandalal's exploration of the different ways of delineating a line allowed him to experiment with its varying forms adding rhythm, vigour and life to the form of the figures. In the above composition, he uses a series of diverse tones of ink and sweeping brush strokes for the depiction of the seashore of Puri. As the inscription suggests, Nandalal has probably referred to the two figures as 'young artists'.
