This sketch was executed during one of Nandalal's visits to Puri, on the coast of Orissa. He has depicted two local fishermen at work, probably pushing a canoe into the sea. The repetitive, swift strokes of the pen delineate the figures while the curvilinear strokes define the low waves of the sea.
