Nandalal was indefatigable in his sketching routines which formed an adjunct part of his daily life. These postcard sketches are the testimony of his keenness to observe and empathy for the environment in which he lived. In this sketch, the brisk stokes of pen and their strong delineation in the calligraphic style gives a textured rendition to the trunk of the tree and other forms in the composition.
