Nandalal was indefatigable in his sketching routines which formed an adjunct part of his daily life. These postcard sketches are testimony of his keenness to observe and empathy for the environment in which he lived. In this postcard sketch, he has depicted a religious procession. The fluid strokes of the brush delineate the vegetation while the short, brisk strokes define the contours of the human forms and add life and vitality to the composition.
