Nandalal Bose in his book, 'On Art' writes- "Nature is life itself and teeming always with infinite variety; it is in her that the artist always renews his experience and finds an unceasing flow of inspiration." Through 1952, Nandalal created a series of paintings of flowers after his retirement from Kala Bhavan, Santiniketan. This representation is of the flower bearing plant Champa found in abundance in Bengal.
