Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In the above monochrome sketch the artist has depicted two men demonstrating the art of making lac bangles. The sketch has been executed with coarse pencil strokes that bring out the corporeality of the forms and add vitality to the composition.
