Nandalal in his artistic career sketched fervently with either pen or brush, subjects ranging from mythic and religious themes to nature and social reality. The above collage comprises of three quick sketches depicting a few men frying pakoras under the tree as suggested in the inscription, and other two depicting trees. The illustrations are rendered with minimal, bold ink strokes articulating the contours of the forms and adding vigour to the composition.
