A Sketch from Album No. 76 8950 Nandalal Bose Pen and ink and pencil on postcard

×
Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching and drawing, instantly recording in the postcard sized papers his subjects from the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life, animals, flora and fauna or anything that he found fascinating. The above monochrome illustration by the artist depicts starving animals grazing in the dry field as the inscription suggests. The sketch has been executed with bold ink strokes delineating the contours of the forms although the handling of the strokes is both fluid and firm.
