Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In the above sketch, Nandalal has used confident ink strokes delineating the graceful postures of the women as one of the women adorns the other woman with a flower. The fluid handling of the line and their strong delineation in the calligraphic style adds vigour and grace to the forms.
