Nandalal's sketches were his vivid observations of the characteristics and attributes of subjects chosen from his immediate surroundings. The above sketch by the artist depicts a woman looking out of the window delineated with bold calligraphic lines with dabs and dashes of colours suggesting the modelling of the body and demeanour of the subject.
