Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. This postcard by him depicts a man sitting on a chair partly visible through a window while a group of crows have been shown sitting outside of it. He has rendered the sketch in bold, thick strokes on ink, suggesting the modelling of the form.
