Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. This sketch portrays a man sitting on a stool. The fluid handling of the strokes and their strong delineation in the calligraphic style, suggest the modelling of the body, highlighting the facial features of the figure.
