In this sketch, Nandalal has rendered the portrait of a man in side profile with thick, bold strokes of ink. Around the face, a dotted outline has been marked in the shape of a mango, also resembling the number 'five' in Bengali, as the inscription suggests. The artist has playfully associated these forms with that of the human face.
