Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this sketch, he has depicted two men walking across the fields, executed in fluid, bold ink strokes delineating the contours of their body. The soft, smudge strokes of colour pencil on the sketch adds grace and vigour to the composition.
