Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this postcard, he has sketch a scene of a puppet show. This has been executed in fluid, bold strokes of ink delineating the forms and capturing movement of the puppets on stage.
