A Sketch from Album No. 93 9361 Nandalal Bose Pen & Ink on postcard

×
Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this pen and ink sketch, he has depicted a village woman collecting fruits falling from a tree in her basket, executed in fluid fine strokes. The tree has been rendered against the intricate mash of bunches in strong rhythmic lines, defining its each leaf, adding grace and spirit to the composition.
