Nandalal had a strong affinity for sketching, his subjects being the surrounding environs, people in their everyday life or anything that he found fascinating. In this postcard sketch he has studied two women standing facing each other probably talking. Rendered in sweeping pencil strokes that delineate the thick contours of the forms and adds rhythm and vitality to the composition.
